DU XINJIAN

Du Xinjian, a graduate of China's top art institute, the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, is one of the most technically skilled contemporary Chinese artists. The detail within his paintings is nothing short of remarkable. But what sets him apart from his contemporaries is his imagination. Du Xinjian is a surrealist artist who takes people to an imaginary land, which he says is based on a story by the ancient philosopher Tao Yuan Ming.
