DRAGONAIR EMERGING CHINESE ARTIST AWARDS II (DECAA II)
20 April - 15 May, 2007
The Dragonair Emerging Chinese Artist Awards (DECAA) is an annual competition pioneered by Art Scene China to provide talented emerging Chinese artists with the exposure they deserve. It is judged by some of the world’s most important Museum Directors, Curators and Critics. The exhibition at Art Scene Beijing of DECAA II showcases the top ten contestants from the December 2006 competition, including the top 3 prizewinners: the Golden Dragon Prize winner, the silver Dragon Prize winner and the People’s Choice winner. The panel of judges which selected the top 2 artists include Gerard Goodrow, Director of Art Cologne, and Jeff Kelley, Curator of the Asian Art Museum in the USA. This year, over a thousand portfolios were submitted for consideration from Chinese artists throughout China, as well as overseas Chinese artists.
Art Scene’s DECAA is the first internationally important art competition that focuses on young, emerging Chinese artists, which is fair, and has no hidden fees or “guanxi” required. The DECAA art competition provides a level playing field for young, emerging artists to showcase their talents within China and internationally. |
